WOMEN'S JEWELLED HOSE.
The colobratcd lady of Banbury Cross lias apparently set the fashion for Bomo of the ornaments of the present lime. Bolls for uso on the feet have not yet boon adopted, but (writes a London paper of rcconfc date) tho "clock" on tlio stocking is being superseded in Paris by jewelled dovices Irom which hang tassels of pearls and similar ornaments, which swing with tho movements of the wearer, and there seems no reason why golden bells should not l:o introduced. Tho attention devoted to footwear is, of course, tho direct result of tho new skirt, which is narrower than ever, and has to bo split to permit of movement at all. In consequence a distinctive shoe! is looked upon as a necessity, particularly for evening wear, and cross-gartering is, it is stated, also being affected by some smart Pnrisiennes. Palo pink, blue, and gold evening shoos aro decorated with, pasto buckles, and have streamers of broad black velvet ribbon, studded with brilliants, attache!, which aro crossed over tho instep and wound round tho leg of the wearer, forming a lattice-pattern on a palo groundwork of silk. A West End shoemaker, however, gives it as his opinion that tho idea is not likoly to find much favour in England. "We get asked for fewer light-coloured shoes,' ho declared. "Englishwomen have not as a whoio very email feet, eo that anything which tends to acccntuato tho size is not likely to bo popular." Another novelty, for ; which a Pans jeweller is responsible, is a bracelet with ring attachments. Diamond chains, which are carried across tho back of tho hand, connect tho rings with .the bracelet,
