In the libel action which the Australian trainer Wootton is bringing against R; Sievier's newspaper, the "Winning Post," during Wootton's appeal to the Court that fuller particulars should bo given of Sievier's statement of defence, Wootton's counsel mentioned that the substance of the libel consisted of accusing Wootton and other trainers of conspiring to decide the winning and losing of Taces, and alleging that Wootton directed his son and other apprentices to pull horses not backed by Mm, and that Wootton also ran half-trained horses when he did not want them to win.
