EDITOR APOLOGISES FOR LIBEL.

New York, June 1. George Nowett, the editor whom Mr. Roosevelt sued for'libel, has retracted the statements Be published in his newspaper, that Mr. Roosovelt was addicted to drink, and has apologised in Court.
Mr. Roosevelt asked the jury to give nominal damages. The ■ jury awarded six cents, complying with his request.
Under the Miohigan laws, Mr. Roosevelt bears his own costs in the trial.
