ACCIDENTS AND FATALITIES.
DUSTMAN AND LYSOL. John Williamson, a corporation dustman, who resided at No. S Oxford Terraco, off Adelaide Road, was found unconscious on the side of one of tho main roads at Brooklyn yesterday afternoonA lysol bottle (three-parts: full), a penknife, and a bottle of sodawater were found alongside him. A doctor was called, and ho tried to give Williamson an emetic, but could not get him to swallow it.
Williamson, who is a married man. 30 years of ago, is at present in tho public hospital, and it was reported last evening that he was still in a grave condition. LABOURER'S SKULL FRACTURED. (By Teleeraph—Press Association.) Auckland, May SO. A labourer named Frank Williams, a married man, was admitted to the hospital to-day ,suffering from a fractured skull, sustained while loading timber at Manukau Heads. FATAL GUN-SHOT WOUNDS. Christchurch, May 30. The police have received word from Hororata of tho death of a widower, named Thos. Barsou, at 5.15 p.m. yesterday, from gun-shot wounds, supposed to havo been self-inflicted. Deceased was a gardener. • CAUGHT IN MILL SHAFTING. Auckland, May 30. An accident happened this morning to an employee of the Kauri Timber Company, Charles Bonella, 35 years of age, a single man. "The strings, of his apron were caught on the shaft of the driving wheel, and Bonella was whirled round and then dashed to the floor. His injuries comprised a broken leg and numerous abrasions. He was fortunate that the injuries were not more serious.
ACCIDENT ON THE ROSAMOND. Auckland, Jin? SO. A seaman on the Rosamond, William Daley, was admitted to the hospital last night, suffering from a fractured leg, the result of a fall. DROWNING FATALITY. Ashburton, May 30. At the adjourned inquest touching the death' of Joseph Walter Stephens, who was found drowned in the Domain swimming bath 011 May 23. the coroner returned a verdict of suicide while temporarily insane.
