THE BATTLE CRUISER.
DUNEDIN CHILDREN DEPART. (By Tolesraph.—Press Association.) Christchurcli, May 21. The battleship New Zealand is closed to the public to-day, but special visits have been arranged for the children and others. The day is beautifully fine, following on a frosty night. Somewhere in tho dark hours of the morning a contingent of children left Oaniaru, and after a cold ride in the train reached Lyttelton before 10 a.m., inspected the warship, and spent the rest of tho day in the city. They returned home this evening. A further contingent of Otago children will arrive to-night. The Dunedin children, who have been inspecting the warship at. Lyttelton, left for south this morning. There was a big crowd at the station to give them a sendoff, and the Mayor briefly expressed the pleasure of the citizens at the visit. Before the train left, Mr. James Rennie. on behalf of the visitors, thanked Christchurch warmly for its hospitality.
