4 — EEMAEKS BY HON. E. H. EHODES. (By Telegraph.—Prcf»s Association.) Dunedin, April 25. At tlio opening of the post offlco at E-avensbourne to-day tho Hon. E. Hcaton Khodes, Postmaster-General, stated that tenders had .been called for full automatic telephone exchanges at six places in tlio Dominion, viz., Auckland, Wellington, Blenheim, Hamilton, Masterton, and Oamaru. The tenders would closo at thb' beginning of next month. Agents representing the principal automatic telephone firms 411 tlio world had been in Wellington ascertaining conditions, and there was evidence that there would bo keen competition.
