Referring to tho appointment of Mr. Ernest Havilland Ililey, at present Divisional Goods Manager nc Newcastle on tho North-Eastern lUiilway (England), to bo General Manager of tho Now Zealand Government Railways, Mr. Herries said that lie did not' know when tho now General Manager would take up his duties, as probably it would bo some littlo timo ; beloro ho would bo released from his present position.
