"HURDLES" FOR MOTORS.
« WILL THEY BE TAKEN TAMELY? "Thoso hurdles" were tho subject of a good deal of discussion by motorists at a meeting last evening. It need hardly bo explained that tho hurdles are the obstructions placed upon tho roads in the Intone borough. These hurdles and the borough councillors have recently had many hard things said of them, but some motorists admit that the hurdles have served a useful purpose in stirring owners of cars towards forming a combination that will, if necessary, Ik> able io adopt a strong defensive attitude, in view of threatened legislation. Mr. T. Young expressed tho opinion last night that tho Wellington Automobile Club might instruct someono to take proceedings regarding "the hurdles." Mr. A. M. Samuels considered that the club should take immediate steps iu the matter. If tho Borough Council was in tlw right, then motorists would have to put up with it, but if tho council was m tho wrong motorists, should not put up with it any longer. , On Mr. T. M, Wi!ford's suggestion the matter ivcs- referred to a sub-committee, with power to act.
