Keuter's Agency states that Nigerian advices show that a plot was discovered to kill Mr. Amaury Talbot andlhis wife. Mr. Talbot is Commissioner in tho Calabar district, and a well-known authority on Juju rites. Ho recently revealed irregularities in tho Native Courts, in which nativo clerks-had been guilty of swindling and other offences against women prisoners. Tho clerks' friends summoned a meeting of tho chiefs, and arranged to murder tho Talbots, but tho plot miscarried. The Juju rites continue. A woman's corpse, prepared for sacrifice, lias been discovered in a sacred crocodile swamp.
