April 11, 9.55 p.m.) Honolulu, April 11. A petition is in circulation threatening the secession of Hawaii from the American Union if'free sugar is adopted by Congress under the Tariff Bill. BEEP TRUST OPPOSITION. Washington, April 10. The free meat proposal in tho Tariff Bill is opposed by the packers' interests. Tariff supporters urgo that the Argentine and New Zealand will bo ablo to the United States, thus reducing tho price, while opponents urgo that the meat interests will still control tho situaion, owing to tlio prominent position they liavo already secured in tho Argentino trade.
