CITY FIRES.
THREE OUTBREAKS YESTERDAY.. On tlireo occasions yesterday the central five brigado was called out to fires, and on a fourth occasion a false alarm caused' them to turn out. At 6.42 in the morning there was a call to extinguish a fire which liad broken out in some rubbish in a wash-house at the back of Dr. Agnes Bennett's residence in Willis Street. No. C Cambridge Terrace required tho brigade'at 10.27 a.m. Tho fire occurred iu a house .of nine rooms' owned by Mr. D. Robertson an<l occupied by Mrs. Martha Sullivan. Some damage was dono to tho sitting room before the flames wero extinguished. The house is insured in tlie I'lioenijr Office for .£3OO and in tho Alliance for .£2OO, and tho contents in tho State for JEIBO. At 10.17 a.m. tho brigade was callcd to a five-roomed house in Sutherland Road, owned and occupied by Mr. G. Barnes. Tho fire, however, was extinguished before the brigade reached the place. Tho building is insured' for ,£390, and tho contents for .£l5O, both in the State Office.
