Auckland, April 6. , Three of tho proprietors of the leading accommodation hotels in Auckland were soen by a "Star" representative relative to the feeling which prevails in regard to the question of hotel charges. In > loach caso an assurance , was given that thero was no intention to increase tho tariff at Exhibition time. It was stated; however, that because of the increasing price of nearly all products and commodities there would bo a slight rise in hotel tariffs forthwith. This alteration in tho scale of charges, however, it was emphasised, had no connection with tlio Exhibition, and was ■ necessary only because of the increased price of foodstuffs. Negotiations aro to be opened with North Canterbury for a coml>incd court. - • A HAWKE'S BAY COURT. Napier, April 4. A public meeting to-night supported the proposal to have a Hawlce's Bay court at the Auckland Exhibition, and an executive committee was appointed to get into touch with'the various towns in tho district and the manufacturers likely to bo interested.
