THE FLOOD AT GORE.
HOUSES STILL UNHABITABLE. (By Telegraph.—Press Association.) Gore, April G. Tlio flood waters have receded, but many of the hundreds of houses inundated are still unhabitable, owing •to dampness and silt. .Reports received from tlio country indicate that many of tho low-lying settlors were seriously affected. There is much loss of winter feed, and hundreds of miles of fencing had been damaged or 6wept away. The town and district are remarkably cheerful, however, and hopeful of a good recovery. The light and power are still off, seriously hampering business. On Saturday night, shopping had to bo abandoned, owing to lack of light. It is not certain when the current will be restored.
