RULE OF THE ROAD.
Sir,—Referring to your paragraph today regarding tlio_ control of the street traffic'by tho police, j I desire ito draw attention to a point .of, considerable importance, namely, that keeping to tho correct side of the road is not in'ife'olf sufficient. Drivers of carts, etc., have a bad habit cf hanging close .up to the centre of tho road, causing those who wish, to pass from behind to do so 011 tho wrong si do (i.e., btJtween cart and kerb), or to swing over to the wrong side of the road. In Adelaide Road particularly this is quite the usual practice; and. it is more than irritating to; have to crawl behind a slowmoving lorry or dray because the driver v.-iII ■ urSt allow the room to nass between his vehicle and llic tram linos. It is n point to which tho authorities might sco fit to give attention—l am, etc., . RIGHT OP WAY. April 2.
