Tho Court returns of the Hutt Valley for the quarter ending March 31 show that at Lower Hutt tho amount sued for' was d£llG3 18s.; tho amount recovered «E503 19s. 6d,; paid in civil fees, £45. iorty-four persons wero summoned or taken into custcdy, 40 wero fined tho amount totalling ,£27 lis., and the fees ■El 2 v 9s. At Pe'xmo 64 persons were indicted for various offences. Thirty-six plaints were ertcred, and tho amount sued for was .£llß Bs. 2d., of which X9l 4s. Sd. was recovered. Fines amounted to .£3l, and fees to JIH 4s. At Upper Hutt the amount sued for wa9 ,£sl 6s„ .£42 Is. being recovered. Civil fees collected amounted to. JE7 17s. Twenty persons wero prosecuted on various charges. Tho fortnightly meeting of Court Epuni No. 7314 was hold on Thursday evening. P.C.R. Bro. W. Clarko presided. Accounts amounting to .£l5O wero passed for payment. ■ Tho quarterly balance-sheet was adopted. . Tho trustees were empowered to' lend the sum of JMOO to the district central fund for "investment. I'.C.R. Bro. W. Clark duly installed tho following officers:—Bro. Wray as C.R.: Bro. Burridae as S.C.R.; and Bro. F. Clark as .T.W. During tho evening three intending candidates wero proposed. Tlio court will start at 7.30 o'clock next lodge night, when a progressive eucliro party will be held. The cash receipts wore .£3B 15s.
