CAVILE CUP FINAL. ' (By Telegraph.—Press Association.) v Palmerston N., April 1. At the New Zealand polo tournament tfie final of the Savilo Cup was played to-day between Maugaheia (Gisborne) and! To Awamutu. The ground was in excellent condition, the weather was delightful, and the attendance large and fashioiTable. -. ' Mangaheia hnd no difficulty in beating their less experienced rivals. Indeed, a more exciting finish would have been between the winners and Hawke's Bay, who succumbed to a very small margin early in the contest. Mangaheia boat Te Awamutu at all points of the game. Their riding, was •better, hitting far superior, and combination in' a higher class. From the start Gisborne piled up goals, and at the, finish won .by 10 goals to nil. Sherrntt scored four goals, Reynolds four goals, J. P. Murphy two goals. The winners were presented with the Savile Cup by Mrs. R. S. Abraham (wife of the vicepresident). . 1 • In, tli'e handicap tournament Hawke's Bay beat Hanvarden B, and Rangitikei beat Hanvarden A. '•
