CHARITABLE AID BOARD.

The ordinary meeting of tlio Wellington Hospital and Charitable Aid Board was held yesterday. There were present: Messrs! J. Godber (in the chair), AY. Galloway, R. Fletcher, D. M'Laren, J. Smith, l l '. T. Moore, .11. Freeman, G. Nash, L. M'Kenzie, A. 11. Hindmarsh, 11.P., H. Baldwin, B. E. Gardener, D. Robertson, J. W. M'Ewen, Miss Richmond, the Rev. H. Van Staveren, and tho lie v. AY. A. Evans. The Hospital Committee reported that the attention of the various responsible officers had been drawn to the necessity for observing economy 111 their respective departments, •as the expenditure at tho Hospital had exceeded the amount provided for in the estimates. The commi'tee reported also that in reference to the recent inquiry held by the coroner (Br. M'Arthur) re the burial of Mrs. Hoult, it had been found that Dr. AYooclhouse had followed tlie usual practice, and his action was entirely in accordance with' legal requirements. Dr. Hamilton A. H. Gilmer was appointed obstetrician 011 tlie honorary medical staff. On tho motion of the Rev. W. A. Evans tlio board resolved to favourably consider a scheme that might alford senior students nl' tlie medical school all opportunity of gaining clinical experience in Wellington and other New Zealand hospitals.
