SWIMMING. SWIFTS CLUB EVENT. The Swifts Club decided the two heats of their last race for the season at To Aro Baths last evening. The heats (75yds.) resulted as follow: — ' First heat: L. The annual meeting of the Gregg Hockey Club in the Y.M.C.A. Noams was held lasft evening. ' Tho following officers wero elected:— Patron, Hon. P. M. B. Fisher; president, Mr. R. A. AVright; vice-presidents, Messrs. Smith, M'Nuight, Grady, J. Wyn Irwin, Garnliam, and Winder; club captain, Mr. A. Hunt; secretary and treasurer, Mr. D. Fouhy; committee, Messrs. Schulenbiirg, Tinney, and-ICnox; delegate to association, .Mr. G. Tinney. Votes of thanks were passed to Messrs. Grady and J. Wyn Irwin for their continued i niter est in the club, mid also for donations. Ten. new . members were elected. The matter of teams and grades was left in the hands of the in-coming - committee. ASSOCIATION. . ROVERS' ANNUAL MEETING. The annual meeting of the Rovers Association Football Club was held at Hit new Federated Amateur Sports Clubs' rooms last evening, Mr. 11. Buck presiding.
The annual report, which was adopted, stated tixat although the positions attained ill the league championships were not very satisfactory, a pleasant season was spent from a' sporting point of view. A match was played against the' Eastbrooke Club at AYaugnnui last 1 Easter, and, although defeated, the touring team had a very pleasant time. The picnic 011 the river was very enjoyable, and thanks were extended, to the Eastbruoke Club tor their hospitality. The committee was pleased to state that the club was in a very sound financial position, and hope was expressed that the coming season may be a most successful one. The election of officers resulted as follows:—Patron, Mr. A. J. Abbott; president, Mr. W. Simm; vice-presidents, Messrs. A. L. Herdman, A. J. Fernie, 11. Ij. Godber, T. Shields, E. Bolton, C. Practice is v to commence on Saturday afternoon, March 29.
Oarsmen from elsewhere are competing in tho New Zealand championships on Easter Saturday. The first racfi starts at 11.30 a.m. and the champion fours at 1.30 p.m. A blue ilajr on the Post Office will indicate the northerly course (if such is to be used), and a red flag the southerly course. Terry steamers are to follow the races. .
