4 CRICKET. I WELLINGTON ASSOCIATION. Mr. Martin J. Luckio presided at ;i meeting of. the Wellington Cricket Association held last evening. There wero present:—Messrs, M. J. Crombie, V. B. Willis, J. Panning, P. A. Laws, and P. Midltine. A letter was received from the City Council stating that permission could not bo granted to charge for the final cup matches at the Basin lteserve on March 29 and April 5. On the proposal of Mr. Crombie, it was decided to refer the matter back to the council, asking for further consideration, as the Weliington-Waiiganui match was "off." Mr. Midlane reported that there was no chance of getting a team to travel to Napier. About five men had backed out of the team selected, and there was 110 chance of filling their places. It was decided to notify the Ilawke's Bay Association accordingly. § ; It was decided to notify the C-ity Council that Ivelburne Park would not be required after April 5.

As usual on holidays, thoKelburne Club lire providing amusement for its members. On Good' Friday a progressive pair tourney will be held, and, judging from the entries already received, the green will be taxed to its limit. aturally the club is very jubiliant over the success of their representatives in the champion of champion rinks tourney, and are seeking fresh victories. Kinc pairs have entered for the centre tourney on Saturday and Monday. The Indies to-day concluded the competition for a trophy presented by Mr. •lames Dykes, and after a strenuous game Miss Williams came out victorious by beating Miss Jl'Gowan. A I'eilding rink, skipped by Sa.vwell, is to visit the Ilutt green on Good Friday.
WATER POLO. The junior water polo' championship •■vns continued at Te Aro -Baths last evening, when Wellington B defeated Y.M.C.A. by '1 guals to 1. The final gamo will be played this evening between Wellington and Switbjt
