OBITUARY.
$ — SIR JAMES GRAHAM. By TelearaDh—Pre6« Assoolatlon-CoDyrlirht Sydney, March 8. Sir James Graham, M.D., died after an operation for an internal complaint. The late Sir James Graham, Knight Bachelor, JI.D., Ch.M. (Edinburgh), was born at Edinburgh in 1858. Sinco 1807 ho lias bean a lecturer in tho University, of Sydney on Obstetrics. Ho was also a Director of the Sydney and Royal Prince Alfred Hospitals, and founder of the Women's Hospital. Tho deceased gentleman was the author of numerous medical papers, and was awarded tho gold medal for original research on hydatid disease. He took a prominent part in tho public life of Sydney, and was at one time « member of the Legislative Assembly. In 1007 tho Sydney "Daily Telegraph," writing editorially upon Hie work of Sir James said: "His philanthropic endeavours for the benefit of tho sick and needy, his connection with the establishment of old age pensions, ond with the sanitation of the city of Sydney, when lie occupied tho Mayoral Chair, are miUlcre of unforgotten history."
