FIRES.
♦ (By Telcferaph—Press Association.) Nelson, March G. A four-roomed house, owned by the Roman Catholic Church, and occupied by Mr. J. 11. Davey, whose effects were uninsured, was destroyed by fire to-night. Dilnedin, March 7. Mr. J. Mac Master's threshing mill was destroyed by fire at Mr. D. Barren's farm, Arrowtown, this morning. The mill was being taken in to threfeh d stack of barley, and a spark , from the engine set the s'thek alight, the fire spreading to the mill. The mill was insured, but Mr. MacM'aster will lose abolit -,£l5O. Mr. Barron, who lost a stack of barley and a small stack of oats, estimates his loss at about JCIOO. Mr. John Campion's house iii Piric Street, which was badly damaged by fire On Thursday evening, was insured in the Sun Office for .£250.
