THE HOME OF COMPASSION.
A "bee" is formed for Saturday in this week for the inirjioso of aiding Mother Mary Aubert in her endeavour to prevent the.-grounds of her institution becoming overrun .with gorse, and so complete the praiseworthy work started last Saturday. Messrs. Gardner 'and Eussell, of the City Corporation siaff, together with their wives, are the prime movers this time, and they desire to say that in-addition to the , many men working under their direction in the council, who have volunteered their services for the half-day, there remains ample room for dozens more of willing helpers.
Our readers aro reminded that upon a previous occasion (November 12. 1907), these tw-o servants, of the council organised a "bee" for the .purpose of tiding in the making of a ivater reserve for the home, ami that a most successful result was accomplished by their efforts, and that of the men, sonic 400 taking part.
Lndio3' services also are asked, and by their pri-sence and kindly influence the good work will be accelerated. All person* interested are invited _to assemble in the (jrounds of the institution at Island Bay at 2 o'clock on Saturday, March 8, r.nd so once more follow the good example set them by their Excellen-cies-Lord and Lady Plunket.
