Paraparaumu tennis players visited Otaki on Saturday, and met a second team from tho local club. After several interesting games, Paraparaumu were defeated by 9 sets to i.

Tho annual meeting of tho Otaki Golf Club was held on Saturday, when tlieie was a fair muster of members. The report and balance-sheet were considered satisfactory. Tho following officers were elected; Bresident, Mr. W. H. Simcox, secretary,' Mr. Martin Simcox; treasurer, Mr. Selwyn Simcox; captain, Mr. Call Hartmann; auditor, Mr. Byrou Blown; committee, Messrs. L. St. George, G. Tolhurst, and P. Simcox. Last month rain fell on nine days, with a total fall of 2.oGin., more than hulf (1.06 in.) falling on tho 21st. In February of the previous year the fall was S.llin. Tho average for February for tho past nine years was 2.sGin. A meeting of members of the Wellington Hospital Board was held here oh Saturday, when it was decided to work the dairying part of the Otaki institution on more economical lines.

Interest in various matches among members of th<» local Eowling Club still continues, and among tho latest games to bo played are tho following:—Howell (6) and Bright (scr.) defeated Booth (6) and Olliver (5), 32—2!); Ferguson (scr.) nnd Bates (3) beat nowell (G) and Olliver (5), 22—20. In the Handicap Singles, Beaumont (2) beat Allen (8), 23 —16; • Noble (4) bent Bright (scr.), 2-t—l2; Noble (4) beat Beaumont (2), 2,1—135 and Simcox (7) defeated Windley (G), 21—13. In the latter game the winner played splendidly, drawing some very fine shots, whild Noble, in defeating Bright, fairly surpassed himself, all shots being good. A surprise visit i\as paid by Levin members on Saturday, when an enjoyable game was indulged in. I.odge, irintyre, .Tamieson, nnd Wilson (s.) were, however, beaten bv Gooding, Thomson. Bright, and Sathci'ley (s.), 2G—l7.
