At 1i.30 there was a repetition of tho dull boom with a liltlo vibration. ;At 12.17 a.ni; tliero wasan- . other canncnade, and very pronounced shaking.', l i\'6. damage' was dono by'ony of the numerous shocks since the lively couple of minutes at 12.38 on Saturday. The origin, of the disturbances.is plainly to the ;Soutli-west. of Wcstport. It must be relatively close,; tbo, as no damago.'was done at Grevniouth on tho ono side, and oilly tho initial shock was felt at Karamoa'on tho other side. The colliers describe Saturday's experience as pandemonium let' loose. • Women and children throughout tho district wcro unnerved.
