ORIENTAL BAY QUARRY.

"It is becoming positively dangerous/' (said a member of tho Koseneath, Ratepayers' Association lost evening, whon referring to tho quarry at tho Oriental Bay tram terminus, lie considered that £he work at tho quarry ought to bo stopped. . Tho chairman (Mr. Ward) also thought that the quarry was absolutely dangerous. Ho predioted that one day tho whole hillwould fall in, as at present the hill was very much undermined. Ho mentioned that ho was passing the quarry ono day recently when anything up to a ton of rotten rock came tumbling down tho hill. Another member _of the association, whoso property adjoins that of tho quarry, stated that ' there were several cracks across- his property, and ho was shxnigly of opinion,that the work of blasting at tho quarry 'should bo'stopped immediately. The chairman moved that tho City Council bo written to asking them to stop tho work at the quarry immediately. Tho motion was carried unanimously.
