There was a large muster.. Tho Rev. G. B. Stephenson was tlio preachcr and suitable hymns were sung. The parade marohed from the railway station to tlio church, headed by the 'Boys' Bugle Band. In tho afternoon an "At. .Home" was-held at the Forts'at Ngahauranga, at which there was a very largo attendance, including ladies. Afternoon tea was dispensed, nnd proceedings wero enlivened by tho attondanco of the Petono Municipal Band. Visitors > wero shown over the forts and tho G-pounder guns were fired. . ' Councillor Ball, who made certain allegations at a public meeting at Alicetown, Lower Hutt. has informed a reporter that he would like it to bo known,that lie had cast no reflections on the present Hutt Council, nor on the council of which Mr. W. H. Rtissell,was a mcrn,ber. . _ _Mr. L. M, Isitt addressed a largo open, air meeting at Petone last evening after church.
