In tho afternoon an "At. .Home" was-held at the Forts'at Ngahauranga, at which there was a very largo attendance, including ladies. Afternoon tea was dispensed, nnd proceedings wero enlivened by tho attondanco of the Petono Municipal Band. Visitors > wero shown over the forts and tho G-pounder guns were fired. . ' Councillor Ball, who made certain allegations at a public meeting at Alicetown, Lower Hutt. has informed a reporter that he would like it to bo known,that lie had cast no reflections on the present Hutt Council, nor on the council of which Mr. W.
