TARIFF REFORM.
ABANDONMENT OF FOOD TAXES I CONDEMNED. By Telegraph—Press Association—Copyright (Rec. February 10,- 10.40 p.m.) London, February 10. Mr. Henry Chaplin, Unionist M.P. for Wimbledon, refuses to acquiesce in the Unionist decision to postpone food taxes' under the Tariff Reform sohemo until after a seoond election has been held. He maintains that this is likely to jeopardise, or indefinitely postpone, the operation <•! tariff preference, as the .panicky abandonment of the food taxes is not calculated to appeal to the electors.
