Speakers* at the meeting predicted a great demand for Australian wool and other commodities by China, and adversely criticised the excluding, under the Immigration Act. of the higher classes of Chinese and iheir. Chinese wives from Australia, though they endorsed the exclusion of Chinese labourers. , ' .
