TRENTHAM V. ELLERSUE.
Sir,—"Unbiased" hardly deserves tho compliment of a reply from me, inas-, much as tho final part of his letter sa-' vours of the legal maxim—"when no case, abuse the - other ride." No one denies that tho scenery en route to Ellcrslio surpasses iij beauty that which wo have from hero to Trentham. That was not niv complaint. I stated that for tho Auckland railway authorities'to . allow people to travel in trucks through a tunnel on an inclino and with the cngino Inching its sulphurous fumes down the lungs of the passengers is downright disgraceful and should not bo tolerated any longer. ; Tho charge for trucks, and carriages is the same,- .and .as a visitor one never dreamt that we should have such a trying timey and so believing iu fresh-air treatmo.it we took the trucks, and its no exaggeration to say that a couple of seconds longer would havo been sufficient to suffocate us
When "Unbiased" can show in what way my other statements, regarding "outside enclosure,"! and "abolition of tho' children from inside" are wrong, I shall be gentlemanly enough to acknowledge my' ciior. In tho meantime—l am, etc..
