A HANDSOME GIFT.
FIVE.VALUABLE AYRSHIRE BULLS,
A valuable gift to New Zealand dairymen in the shape of five purebred Ayrshire bulls is at present' on its wny to New Zealand from London.in the steamer Matatua, which is dub hero ■on February 10. .' The bulls. are the present of Messrs. T. Clement and Co., dairy produce merchants, who arc paying all expenses and are giving the bulls to certain dairy companies for tho use of their suppliers, so that .the strain may. be , introduced as nidely and impartially as possible. The animals come from one of the finest milk record Ayrshire ; herds of. Wethcrton, Glasgow, and it is hoped'by. their donors that they will help forward the purebred stock of New Zealand' in the districts for which' they are intended, ■ and incidentally herds of' tho/Dominibn generally. In quality,' the animals are said to be equal to the bulLrecently.' iinported by tho New Zealand Government, which animal was bred' on the same farm as'tho present five, and was selected for the Government by Mr. Dunlop. It is understood that three of the bulls aro going to dairy factories in tho Wairarapa, but it has not yet been decided , -where the other two'will bo sent.
