Pupils who have gained proficiency certificates at the Otaki Convent School are: Winnie Quill, Humphrey O'Rourke, Norah Kilsby, and Winnie Coomber; , Miss Breen, who is shortly to be married, was entertained at li "social" on Friday, and made the, recipient of a presentation. . An old building, formerly a court-, house, and another adjoining, are being removed -from tho main street to make room for an hall for Messrs. Bright Bros. A number of','people, chiefly from ;■ Wellington, are at present'camped in various parts of this district..'Some have pitched tents on ,the banks of the Waikanae' Stream.
