MADAME KIRKBY LUNN.

Within the last few days word has been received from London that Madame Kirkby Lunn,. will ,be required to fulfil engagements at Covent Garden Opera House early in the season, and Wellingtonians may consider themselves fortunate that on Thursday and Saturday evenings next they'will have opportunities of hearing this gifted singer. On Thursday evening n song recital will be given by Madame Lunn, the programme for which she will almost entirely provide, and the management state that this will probably be the most memorable appearance in New Zealand of this, distinguished artist. As is usual at song recitals, there are one or two instrumental items on trio programme, and on this occasion Mr. William Murdoch, the pianist of the company, will provide these. A fine programme is. also' being arranged for Saturday evening, and Madame Lunn will, on this, occasion, have the assistance of Mr. Andrew Shanks, baritone, Mr. William Murdoch, pianist, M. Andre Ribaupierre, violinist, and Herr Johan Wielaert, accompanist. Each artist has selected fits most popular numbers, and a musical treat is promised. The box plan for both evenings is riow on view at tho Dresden, and day sale tickets for second seats may bo obtained at the same place from Tuesday morning.
