LODGE DOCTORS.
THE INVERCARGILL DISPUTE. (By MosnipJi.—Press Association.) Invercarnill, December 20. The. secretary of the local branch of the British Medical Association received an official communication from the Lodge Conimitteo to-day, inviting the medical men to reconsider their decision, as tho lodge officials believe that tho present situation has arisen through a misunderstanding. As a roply to this communication is desired late w January, it is anticipated that a settlement just and fair to both parties will be arrived at Boon after that date. Tho doctors of Invercargill, acting in unanimity, have sent in their resignations of their positions as lodge doctors of tho Friendly Societies in Invercargill. Tho crux of the present dispute is that the medical men wish operations to be paid for, and this the lodges have refused to concede. Tho agreement which at present obtains is, from a medical man's point of view, inferior to that .existing in any ottmr paxt of tho Dominion.
