A RECORD PLAN.
EVERY SEAT BESPOKEN. "1 think that's worth framing!" said Mr. W. T. Citldow. secretary of the Royal Wellington Choral Society, yesterday, as ho pzed on tho box-plau of the Town }Inll _ for Friday's performance of "The Messiah." And it is a wonderful plan. Every availablo teat is cither booked, 01 tickets havo l»en wild to represent those not actually ticked off on the plan at the Dresden.
"Even the seate round tho back of the choir have boon bqspoken," Raid Mr. Caldow, "and every scat in tho gallery is , actually booked. There may bo a few extra saats arranged for, but to set those, peopio will have to come very early." On tho testimony of Mr. M. J. Brookes, of tho Dresden Company, it is easily a record plan for a one-night concert in Wellington. There havo been very big nights, as in the case of Melba, Clara Butt, and Calve, but there has never, it is stated, been the booking that is recordod for "Tho Messiah."
Mr. Caldow asks all seat-holders to be in their places by 7.50 p.m., in order that no one may be shut out on the closing of the doors at tho commencement of tho concert. A dre« rehearsal of the oratorio, with orchestra und principals, will be held in tho Town Hall this evening.
