THE ACTIVITY AT HASTINGS. (I3y Telegraph.—Special Correspondent.) : 1 Hastings, December 9. ' The local lawn tennis' club is leaving no 6tone unturned to have its courts in first-class order for the Australasian .championships. The club—already a powerful one—has greatly increased its. membership during the present season, and now .has the largest membership of any club in New Zealand, excepting a few which also cater for bowlers. The warm weather of the last week has been greatly appreciated by tennis players. There are eleven courts available for play at the New Year tournament.
