Christchurch, December 9. . , The City Council to-night considered reports on'the Government's offer to supply the bulk of the electricity to the city from-the Lake Coleridge hydro-electrical . installation from Mr. P. Black, M. Inst. E.E., of Wellington, arid from the council's. own electrical engineer (Mr. ,T. C. Scott). On the recommendation of the Electricity Committee, it was agreed that . a loan, of ,£120,000 be raised'to provide for, transforming plants, mains, streetlighting seryioes, meters, and buildings . to utilise the supply from Lake Coleridge.
