Balfour, speaking at the St. Andrew's Day festival, referred to the Scottish spirit of. nationality, and said that the great overseas Dominions must retain their own feeling for a separate nationality, but he hoped that while cultivating it they would also cultivate an Empire nationality. BURMA ABDUCTION CASE. Rangoon, November 80. I An appeal to the Chief Court for an order to the magistrate at Mergui to revise his decision in acquitting H. B. M'Cormick, a British officer charged with abducting a native girl, was dismissed. The Judge declared ho did not believe the statements made by the girl or her mother. MERCHANT SERVICE DISPUTE.
