Margaret Neilsen, the woman, who was working on the wharves disguised as a man, in order to support her two children, and who met with an accident, has died from her injuries. The Admiralty states it. has no information, regarding the projected visit of a French cruiser to Muscat, as a demonstration in conneotion with the gun-running on -the north-west frontier of India. THE IMPERIAL SPIRIT. London, December 1. Mr. A. J. Balfour, speaking at the St. Andrew's Day festival, referred to the Scottish spirit of. nationality, and said that the great overseas Dominions must retain their own feeling for a separate nationality, but he hoped that while cultivating it they would also cultivate an Empire nationality. BURMA ABDUCTION CASE. Rangoon, November 80. I An appeal to the Chief Court for an order to the magistrate at Mergui to revise his decision in acquitting H. B. M'Cormick, a British officer charged with abducting a native girl, was dismissed. The Judge declared ho did not believe the statements made by the girl or her mother. MERCHANT SERVICE DISPUTE.
