GIFT WARSHIPS.

Mr. Winston Churchill, First Lord of the Admiralty, in replying in tho House of Commons to Mr. Lee, made it clear that there would be no modification in the naval programme as a result of the offer of the Federated Malay States of a battleship. The ship would be entirely additional to the ordinary programme. Mr. Churchill added that tho battlecruiser New Zealand was being quickly completed and would go to New Zealand some months earlier than had been expected. The vessel was practically in commission at the present time.
