. $ ■ MYSTERIOUS ISLAND TRAGEDY. By Teleerapli—Press Aosociation-OoDyrlaht (E-ec. November 28/ 9.50 p.m.) Sydney, November 28. The widow of Mr. J. H. Davies, a representative of Messrs. Kerr Brothers in the New Hebrides, has arrived here. She alleges that her husband was murdered.Davies left Tonga in oompany with two natives for the purpose of recruiting at the island of Epi. During the day the natives returned, and reported that Davios A search party found him dying, with large wounds at the back of his head. He had apparently been attacked while resting, but there is nothing tij show by whom. The widow complains that a proper inquiry was not held. The death certificate asoribed the cause of death to over-exertion.
