PRINCE OF WALES AT OXFORD.

The Prince of Wales had a warm welcome on his arrival at Oxlord with Major Cadogan and Mr. Hansell in attendance (writes a'corresixindont in ."The .Queen").' ko was heartily cheered on the platform, where lie 'was received by tho Chief Constable of tho town, and again as he drove away. The, inner study, is a very, cosy .room, with, windows overlooking Cloister Quad, the' Founder's Tower, Hall, Chapel; and the matchless Magdalen Tower. The bedroom windows' face north over the lawns towards Newi Buildings, which,' however, were built nearly two hundred years ago. Lord Stanley, Lord Derby' 6 older eon, occupies the rooms on the other side of the; same staircase. He also is a: Freshman, and well known already to the Prince of' Wales. ; Another friend amongst these is Mr.' Farquhar, who was amongst this year's Eton eight. He accompanied the Prince on Sunday to Nuneham Park, whew, .with Major Cadogan and Mr. Hansell, they had luncheon with Mr. and Mrs. Lewis. Harcourt. Other Freshmen at Magdalen are Mr. Bowes Lyon, .yonngest son, of Lord Strathmore, and Mr. Acland licod, Lord St. Aiidries's. son. The Prince of, Wales will .lead a much more free life, at Oxford than did his granSfatlier, King Edward, at either University, for the latter did not reside either at Christ Church* or Trinity College, and although tho Duk« of Clarence had rooms in Nevil's Court when at Trinity, he was made an exception of in many ways. Tho Prince of Wales mil dine in Hall at the undergraduates' table, and as far as possible lead the same life as his fellow 6tudent6. He will join the Union Society and Vincents' Club, and will take part also in the sporting side of University, existence..
