RHODES SCHOLARS.
NO WELLINGTON MAN THIS TEAK. There is every proliability—in fact, it may be regarded as a Victoria Coifege will not nominate a candidate for the Rhodes Scholarship this -year. The usual procedure is for the . students of the college to submit a nomination to the Professorial Board, which reviews the qualifications of the nominee, and either accepts or rejects, at its discretion. The nomination is receivable within a certain period subsequent to the announcement of tlio terms examination results, and this period may be extended, at the discretion of the' board. In the case of Victoria College the period named has expired, Snd it is -not considered likely that it will' be extended, as amongst the' eligibles of the year, none are considered to rank sufficiently high to rtoet the comprehensive requirements of the .Selection Cominittea at every point.:
