EXPORT OF EGGS.
TRIAL SHIPMENT TO VANCOUVER. With, the object of testing outside markets in order to relieve tlie local inarIcets when, they are over-supplied, and also'to discover the Ust means of shipping eggs abroad, the Department of Agriculture hns made a trial shipment oil egfS to Vancouver. The cousigmucut comprised eight case?, each containing 30 dozen eggs. Two cases consisted of eggs packed in cardboard fillers, two cases ot' eggs sterilised by the cabinet system, two cases chilled CRgs (one case having been in cool store at a temperature of 33 degrees Pah. for a month, ond the other having been held at a like teniperaturo for 10 days), one case packed in husks, nnd one case of sterilised eggs packed in husks. The eggs will bo disposed of under the supervision of'the Now Zealand Trade Commissioner in British Columbia, who is to renort fully to'the Department on tho experiment. The eggs are being carried at temperatures between 33 and 31 degrees Fah., and a daily record is being kept of tho temperature of the chamber on the etenmer.
