TRUCK RATE FOE SMALL LOTS. The Minister for Railways, replying to a request by tho Auckland Formers' Union that owners of small lots of live stock should be allowed to combine so as to be allowed to obtain the benefit' of the truck rate, says:—So far as the Department is concerned there is no objection to owners of live stock combining and forwarding their stock as if from one owner, but tho stock would require to bo sent from ono consignor to one consignee, and would be treated as if the consignment was from one owner. If, however, they were sent to different consignees as from different consignors, the Department would require to-! treat them as separate lots. ■'
