"WE HAVE NO LEADER."
MR, BROWN'S AWKWARD POSITION. Sovoral members of the Opposition havo no hesitation in ridiculing their leaderless condition. A frank admission of tho inconvenienco of u five-fold leadership was made by Mr. J. V. Brown (Napier) in tho Houso of Representatives yesterday, when he made another attempt to bring forward n motion censuring tlio Government for discharging co-operative workers from railway construction works. lie asked tho Prime Minister whether the motion which has been on the Order Paper for some lime would be allowed to come bo-fi-ro the House.
The Prime Minister replied that he did not proposo to give the lion.-member an opportunity to move tho motion unless it was endorsed by a leader or leaders of the. Opposition.
"I am in this awkward position," Mr. Brown replied. "We have no leader, and I am, of course, unable to know to whom I should refer this motion. (Laughter.) Not having n lendor on this side, 1 am not able to consult him."
