Sir Thomas Robinson, Agent-General for Queensland, in his evidence before the Imperial Trade Commission, emphasised the need in the selecting of emigrants for precautions to safeguard females on the voyage. He explained the arrangements for retiring; and housing immigrants in Queensland, and corrected the mis-state-meat of a previous witness in this respect The witness also stated that sugar could be more successfully grown in Queensland Irf white 3 than by Kanakas.
