ARMED BURGLAR.
WOUNDS TWO PEOPLE. By Teieeraph—Press Association—Copyright (Hcc. October 18, 10.15 p.m.) Sydney, October 18. Two more burglaries are reported, -one of them being by an armed desperado. Mr. Parkes, the landlord of the Cook Hotel, who is an invalid, -was roused by hearing a man in a room where an attendant uamed Healy was sleeping. Mr. Parlccs blew a whistle and. roused the attendant, and tho burglar replied by firing a bullet, which pierced Mr. Parkes's forearm, also breaking the skin over tho heart.
The burglar then turned his revolver on the attendant, wounding him in the leg. The wound is not serious. The burglar bolted, but nothing is missing. A youth named Roberts was subsequently arrested and charged with attempting to murder Parke3 and Healy. INTRUDES IN A BEDROOM. (Rec. October 18, 10.15 p.m.) Sydney, October 18. Lady Manning was awakened by a burglar in her bedroom. She screamed at the intruder, who bolted, taking a .£OO diamond ring.
