CONTRACT GOES TO ENGLAND.

After Tigorous protests by American firms, tho Government has decidcd to award part of a contract for steel shells to th® Hatfield Steel Company, England. The Hatfield! Company underbid the Americans, but the latter agitated against tbe contract going to a foreign firm. The Government decided to give an order for the first instalment to England, and to dispose of contracts for the rest later.
