DEPRECATES A SYMPATHY VOTE. By Teleeraiih—Press Associatlon-CoDyrieht (Rec. October 18, 9.25 p.m.) New York, October 18. Mr. Roosevelt is making satisfactory prop-ess towards recovery; from the injuries inflicted on him by his assailant at Milwaukee. He has issued a statement approving of Mr. Bryan's assertion that' the Presidential campaign issues ought not to be determined by an assassin's act, and declaring that he wishes to be elected solely upon the great principles involved.
