— y— . NATIONALISATION PROPOSAL. By Teleerash—Press Association-Copyright • London, October 3. The Miners' Congress at Swansea discussed the Federation's proposed Nationalisation of Mines Bill. Tho Bill provides for the appointment of ten Commissioners, who would assess the value of the coalmines, which would be purchased by moanß of 3 per cent, coal-mines stock, redeemable in twenty years. The Bill >ivould enable a Minister for Minos to control the coal distribution. v The Conference unanimously approved the principle of tho Bill. A FIVE-DAY WEEK. London, October 3. The Miners' Congress, by 305,000 votes to 283,000, decided on 'a five-days' week. Mr. Brace, Mr. Harvey, and others strongly dissented. They stated that many, particularly surfacemen, opposed tho adoption of the idea, which would go a long'way to break up the Federation.
