MUNICIPAL ORCHESTRA.

-4 ' • It is felt that the support accorded to ■ the Municipal Orchestra during the last few concerts was not by any means what it should have been, and the orchestra and management express tho opinion that it is especially incumbent on tb.oso who take pride in helping on any progressive movement to heartily support this society, and encourage those who have laboured so hard to place the best works of tlie great composers : before the Wellington' public at purely nominal prices. The tenth .concert for the present season will be given in the Town Hall this evening, and the programme is as attractive as any previously given. Mr. Maughan Barnett and his society have worked hard, and the reward which the society ask for is the filling of the Town Hall by tho music- ■ loving public of Wellington. The itein9 to be given to-niglit comprise the whole of Beethoven's Fifth Symphony and Tsohaikovsky's "Nutcracker Suite," two very popular works, as well as Lachner's "Ma 1-clip Celebre," Brahms' "Hungarian Dances," and the intermezzo from Mascagni's "Cavalleria Rusticana." Mr. Courteney V. Mohr, the vocalist for the evening, will sing Allitsen's "Prince Ivan's Song" and the Prologue from Pagliacci by Leoncavallo, Mr. Horace'*Hunt acting as accompanist.
